Workshop

This page will guide you through the registration process for RoboMine 2019 Workshop. The workshop begins on 5th August 2019 to 10th August 2019 from 9am to 3pm each day, cost of training is GH₵ 200.00. Location: Sepe Aprampram, AK-046-1815. Activities

Day One

  • INTRODUCTION TO ARDUINO.
    The trainer would take the students through the model of the Arduino how it works and how it is made. This would make the students understand what they are going to work with. The components of the kit would be introduced to the students. The students would learn how to create variables.
  • CONDITIONAL STATEMENTS.
    The students would learn conditional statements that is how to construct if and else statements. Logic gates would be taught in this week. The students would learn AND,OR and NOT gate.

Day Two

  • LOOPS AND LIST.
    Students would learn how to create a list and dictionary. They would be taught how to create loops with for, while and do.
  • FUNCTIONS.
    The students would learn how to create functions. Functions would help the students understand how to write better code and be able to interact with other in-built arduino functions.The students would learn digitalRead(),digitalWrite(). This is to help the students understand how the arduino works.

Day Three

  • ULTRASONIC SENSOR.
    Students would learn how to receive and send data with an ultrasonic sensor. This would provide the students with the skill to train the Arduino to react to obstacles.
  • COLOUR SENSOR.
    Students would learn how to receive data from the colour sensor. The importance of the color sensor training is to provide good understanding to the students on how to build a robot to differentiate between colours.

Day Four

  • L293D H-Bridge MOTOR DRIVER IC AND DC MOTORS.
    Students would learn how to control DC motors to enable them to build vehicles with the H-bridge Motor Driver IC. This would provide the students the skill to build and control the wheels of vehicles.
  • IR INFRARED OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE SENSOR MODULE.
    This sensor is used in the building of autonomous vehicles. The students would understand the underlying basic principle of robots in warehouses and how they can build their own autonomous vehicle.

Day Five

  • ROBOMINE 2019 CHALLENGE.
    Students would learn how to make prototype designs for RoBoMine 2019. The challenges will cover all modules covered within the past days.
